Mission Statement

The national framework for training and responsibilities of doctoral schools are governed by the French Order of 26 August 2022, amending the Order of 25 May 2016

In order to meet those standards, the GS SMRE

 

  • Fostering multidisciplinarity
  • Offering complementary scientific and technical training
  • Organising conferences tailored to the scientific community as a whole
  • Guaranteeing the scientific excellence of research groups
  • Monitoring doctoral students' progress from authorisation to enrolment through the appointment of the examining committee, complying with the Doctoral Charter (including the limit on the number of doctoral students per supervisor, mediation, etc.)
  • Fostering international collaboration (through co-tutored theses and international doctoral exchange programs)
  • Encouraging the enrolment of foreign doctoral students (recruitment competitions, French language courses, etc.)
  • Providing training in professional communication in foreign languages, giving the language skills necessary for seamless integration into international companies and research teams
  • Offering specific "Vocational training schemes" to help define their career plan
  • Elevating the reputation of a doctoral degree and encouraging a more favourable outlook towards the corporate environment
  • Assisting doctoral students in preparing for their job search and providing support throughout the process
  • Monitoring the career development of the school alumni
