Studies and disability

The SMRE ED is committed to welcoming and supporting PhD students with disabilities

The University of Lille, Centrale Lille and ITM Nord Europe are strongly committed to welcoming disabled doctoral students
The Ministry has launched the ‘Contrats doctoraux handicap’ (PhD contracts for the disabled) campaign, which provides funding for a 3-year thesis, with the possibility of an extension, to encourage students with disabilities to continue their studies. The disability must be recognised by the RQTH (Reconnaissance de la Qualité de Travailleur Handicap)

The CNRS has also launched a 2024 recruitment campaign for students with disabilities

This year, I declare my disability :

Recognition as a disabled worker (RQTH), invalidity pension and temporary invalidity allowance are the main categories for acquiring the status of beneficiary of the employment obligation (BOE).
This recognition allows you to adapt your professional and personal life to protect your health

Material or organisational adjustments: ergonomic chair, remote magnifier, teleworking, adjustment of working hours, human assistance....

To make it easier for you to reconcile your disability and your professional life, you can take advantage of special rights such as part-time work, reserved recruitment (doctoral disability contracts), etc.

The cost of compensating for a disability can be considerable. You can benefit from financial aid: hearing aids, specific software, technological equipment, etc

The University of Lille is committed to a policy of integrating people with disabilities into the workforce and keeping them there. Every year, it supports more than 300 staff with disabilities.
